Bernd Hallier is Executive Director of the European Retail Academy, headquartered in
Cologne, Germany. The ERA coordinates retail research and related activities among 75
universities in 30 countries. He has authored more than 200 research articles, has made more
than 20 contributions in major books, and has authored 5 monographs. Areas of study include
organizational and market strategy, the culture and history of commerce, and applied trade
research. Dr. Hallier is also the Chairman of EuroShop.
